Use iPod as Your Travel Guide
 If you have an iPod connected to your computer, you can now download travel guides from TBT Europe directly to your iPod and read them when you're out travelling. It's free and easy. Just look for the iPod symbol when you're browsing TBT Europe. When you find a place you would like to visit, just click the iPod sybol. Clicking it will enable you to download a small text file designed to be read using the Notes feature available on most iPod models.
How to Download
The only thing you need to do in order to read these travel guides on your iPod is to enable disc usage from iTunes. When you have done this, you may access your iPod from Windows Explorer. Transfer the downloaded guides to your Notes folder on your iPod, and you're ready to go. You can now read the transferred travel guides using your iPod. By default they will be accessible from Extra > Notes.
Supported iPod Models
The Notes feature is available on iPod models with a dock connector including:
- iPod mini
- iPod with color display (iPod photo)
- iPod (Click Wheel)
- iPod (with Dock Connector)
- iPod nano
- iPod with video
If you're not sure what iPod model you have, find out on Apple Info.
Current limitations
Unfortunately, iPod does not come with proper text reader software. The Notes feature is limited in the sense that every note only can hold about 4KB of text. Files longer than this will automatically be truncated by your iPod. The travel guides downloadable from TBT Europe are in general smaller than 4KB each, but we are currently working on supporting larger travel guides. The downloadable travel guides have only been tested using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 and above. If you are experiencing trouble using this feature with another browser/platform, please send us an e-mail.
